Ayurveda FAQ
General Ayurveda FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
-
Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old holistic healing system from India, often called the "science of life." It focuses on creating balance in the mind, body, and spirit to promote overall health and well-being.
-
Ayurveda takes a holistic and personalized approach, focusing on the individual's unique constitution (dosha) and addressing the root cause of imbalances through diet, lifestyle, herbs, and therapies. Western medicine often focuses on treating symptoms of specific diseases.
-
The three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – are the fundamental energies that govern our physical and mental characteristics. Vata relates to movement, Pitta to transformation, and Kapha to structure. Everyone has a unique combination of these doshas.
-
While it's helpful to understand your general constitution, our practitioners can help assess your dosha during a consultation and tailor treatments accordingly.
-
Generally, yes, when practiced by trained professionals and using high-quality products. We are committed to using safe and natural oils and adhering to traditional Ayurvedic practices. It's always important to inform your chosen medical practitioner of any existing health conditions or allergies.
-
Ayurveda can be a wonderful complement to conventional medicine, promoting overall well-being and supporting the body's natural healing abilities. However, it is not intended to replace diagnosis or treatment from your medical doctor. Always consult with your physician for any serious health concerns.
